Input and Output Devices

Input devices are the parts that bring information into the computer. The input device translates human actions or physical objects (analog data) into an electronic (digital) form the computer can recognize.

Some examples:

Mouse-
an input device designed to manipulate objects on the computer screen.

Graphic Tablet-
A graphics tablet is a device that allows the user to use a stylus or pen to make strokes and marks like a normal pencil on paper but the marks appear on the computer screen within the chosen application.

 Keyboard-
an input device designed to enter text, characters and other commands into the computer.

Multi-card Reader-
A small USB plug-and-play device used to read, copy and backup data from portable flash memory cards such as an SD Card, MiniSD, MicroSD, SIM and others that are used in a wide variety of consumer electronics products.

 Scanner-
a device that captures images from photographic prints, posters, magazine pages, and similar sources for computer editing and display.

On the other hand, output devices translate information stored in the computer and present it in a way that humans can understand it. Just like the following examples:

Printer-
a printer is a device that accepts text and graphic output from a computer and transfers the information to paper, usually to standard size sheets of paper.

Speakers/Sound Monitor-
The speaker is a device for sound reproduction. This device converts electrical energy into acoustic energy that is emitted into the air.

Headphones-
Audio output device for a person that is attached to the head (the boxes are located in or above the ears). Usually used in order to listen audio materials without disturbing other person.

Screen/Monitor-
is a data processing and output device or a part of an output device for displaying visual information (pictures or characters).  The presentation is in contrast to the video projector (called the projection, such as the "canvas" screen ) is visible on the device.

Projector-
a special projector, the images from a visual output device (computer, DVD player, VCR, etc.) projected to an audience in an enlarged form on a screen.
